Emilie Brzezinski: Sculpture And The Beauty Of Trees

Emilie Brzezinski: Sculpture And The Beauty Of TreesStartFragment Emilie Brzezinski is an artist who creates art with wood but I think that is an understatement. Her work exemplifies wood. It gives homage to it. It's texture, it's rigid nature as a medium and the original sacrament of shape and form it has from woods original source; the tree. I love how raw her work can be. The viewer never forgets that this is the remnants of a tree. That it is somehow, in essence, still a tree. Be sure to pick up a copy of her book Emilie Brzezinski: The Lure of the Forest: Sculpture 1979-2013 (I'm currently awaiting mine) and she has a wonderful website The Lure of the Forest. EndFragment

Plant a Tree

StartFragment Every time I'd look at a tree I'd wonder if it would still be there 20 years from now and then I'd assure myself that it would. "The best time to plant a tree was 20 years ago. The second best time is now." ~Chinese Proverb EndFragment
